The Hutch Journal | Notes from the field, the studio, and everywhere in between

Every home we design starts with a feeling: morning light across a white oak floor, a kitchen that pulls everyone in, a bathroom that feels like a deep exhale. The Hutch Journal is where we share how we get there. It’s the behind-the-scenes story of Hutch Design + Build, the award-winning design-build studio behind whole-home renovations, kitchen and bathroom remodels, and custom homes across Northern Colorado.

Here you’ll find the projects taking shape in our studio, the tile, stone, and finish selections we debated for weeks, and the layout decisions that changed everything. Because we design and build under one roof, we’ll also be honest about the practical side, including what a remodel really costs in Northern Colorado and what years of building homes in Fort Collins, Loveland, Windsor, and Timnath have taught us.

Thoughtful design and honest building, in the same place. Pour a cup of coffee and stay a while. We’re glad you’re here.
